Senbon Matsubara, a pine grove that has survived for centuries and enshrouds a quiet and peaceful area of Numazu, Shizuoka, sits between the majesty of Mt. Fuji and Suruga Bay.
Nestled inside, a traditional sukiya-style teahouse and a bold, modern Japanese villa.
We want many people to savor special moments inside this precious building carefully passed down from the early 20th century. Our distinctive cuisine is rooted in Chinese cooking, under the supervision of chef and Shizuoka native Hirofumi Saito.
The villa contains just eight guest rooms.
Layouts include Japanese-style rooms with futons, Western-style rooms with spacious balconies, and a maisonette with a mix of Japanese and Western elements. The warmth of uncompromising simplicity infused with the aura of an estate, opening onto a spacious garden. Time flows differently in this place.
Located in the villa, our secluded spa features infoor and outdoor baths, as well as a stone sauna and regular sauna. Materials were carefully chosen for their unique properties. The luxurious space soothes both body and mind.
The thatched-roof Nagaya Gate at the entrance to the grounds and the sukiya-style teahouse building have been designated as Tangible Cultural Properties of Japan for their historical and artistic value. Skilled artisans left other remarkable works throughout Numazu, long known for its scenic beauty.
